Jack Corrigan, Rockies Announcer Visit!
Students worked to create math word problems related to the Rockies. We were chosen as one of the school's that Jack Corrigan (Rockies baseball announcer) visited! He gave every student 2 Rockies tickets for May 11th! Students learned about keeping score and the math related to playing baseball! We were so lucky to have this amazing experience!
IBM Field Experience
Wow! What a day, we did so much in such a short period of time. Student's participated in 2 of 3 activities! They did an egg drop where they had to design and engineer a way for their egg to drop from 8 ft without breaking while staying on budget! Student's designed roller coasters that marbles traveled through and made it into a cupand practiced their coding skills on a computer simulation!
Lego Design Challenge
Students were asked to build a structure out of legos in 3 minutes with their teams. They studied the structure and took it apart. Each group then tried to re-build the structure while they were blindfolded. Students did an excellent job collaborating with their teammates and working together toward an end goal.
